Week of 12 Apr — 18 Apr

What did you do this past week?

This past week I studied for my Chemistry exam that was on Thursday and also finished up Phase 3 of the project with my teammates!

What’s in your way?

It just hit me how fast time is flying and how we almost have only a month of school left, meaning that a lot of finals are coming up! I can feel myself starting to feel a bit burnt out, but I need to remember to finish strong. I am trying to help this by allowing myself to take breaks from time to time so it doesn’t all hit me at once.

What will you do next week?

I have some other projects due for my other two classes next week, so I will probably be spending more time on those this week since last week, I was busy with my exam and Phase 3. I plan to do some small changes here and there throughout the week for Phase 4 though.

If you read it, what did you think of the More getters and setters?

After reading last week’s article, I thought this article was a nice addition and helped soldify and expand on getters and setters and other implementations on accessing information without exposing too much.

What was your experience of SQL? (this question will vary, week to week)

I have not had much experience with SQL but find it to be pretty fun and easy to understand through lecture! I like how the syntax is pretty relaxed and everything is easy to read. I had a lot of fun doing the exercises in class with my classmates!

What made you happy this week?

I am glad that Phase 3 is finished and that we are near the end of the school year! On top of that, I was able to take some time to bake cookies this week, and that was a nice way to destress.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

I find my computer to run SUPER slow, especially with Docker containers running. My tip of the week would be to kill the unused containers with ‘docker system prune’ and to also check the CPU usage of your computer by checking your task manager and closing anything not needed!
